"Geyser".   was inspired by a painting by O. C. Seltzer.  "Geyser" was created without the rider to emphasize the volatile eruption of the bucking horse.  In a photo album from 1918 from the Valley Ranch in Cody, Wyoming I found a similar black and white photo of a bucking horse and rider with the title "Bar B alias Geyser".  The name of the horse seemed to fit well, and both the Bar B and Valley Ranch brand, the lazy J D, are on the sculpture.  I used an interesting old saddle I had stamped " O. Stigers -  Laramie City  _ W. T".  The W. T stands for Wyoming Territory, (Wyoming became a state, in 1890).  Both the painting and old photo showed the saddle with a rawhide rieta, and the cowboy using a rawhide quirt and horse hair macate, or lead rope usually looped in his belt.  All are incorporated into the design of this piece, and  attached to the saddle, with the macate flying loose around the horse's hind end and tail.

"Geyser" is available with, or without, the bronze base with the title, bas-reliefs of the saddle, quirt and a geyser.  Castings without the bronze base will be mounted on a walnut base.
